It's fairly versatile yeah, works for everyday use too. Mine just recently ran out but since I've got many things that already smell very similar to it, I didn't rebuy...but it's incredibly neat imo!

Yeah you do need distortion, a lot of it actually. You can try getting a cheap multieffects like a Boss ME-25 or a Zoom Multistomp, I use a plugin on PC for my bass and guitars, for recording, and a separate multieffects and a Darkglass pedal for guitar and bass respectively.

I recently restrung this one with a 55-115 set and I have used it for lower tunings, mostly for Slipknot and such, but it does everything lol You do gotta be careful with the preamp knob though, don't dial it in any further than 6 because it will distort your signal, unless you use a compressor pedal. I run a compressor after a Sansamp and a Darkglass B3K when I'm using pedals, but also add some compression when using NeuralDSP Parallax...the pickup is very hot and the preamp can distort amps very easily

They were meant to portray that same emotion from the OG track, but updated and with a "This time it's personal" energy, and the fact that it's tuned to Eb, makes it have a lot more of an impact imo. It shows this game was pretty much made to be played and taken seriously, just like its music. All of its soundtrack (except for the Chirpy Chips stuff, eugh-) is extremely good, like, better than 95% of what's out now ^^'

Bass is Ibanez GSR255, EQ settings were 60% bass, 40% mids, and 60% treble. I also used a Darkglass B3K bass overdrive, into a Marshall MB30, and into Audacity through my Scarlett Solo.

It's hard for me to suggest anything, because what works for me might not work for you or others...for me it was just listening and playing, researching tunings, and what helps me is the fact that American notation uses letters, and in my head, notes had colors, so I'd associate the color of the note/chord with the letter and so on...but that was entirely a self-taught thing as I never really took any lessons up until 2021-2022...just try to learn at your own pace and way and finding what works best for you.

I like how a very simplistic bass like this can have such a tone, like, I had the preamp half open (at 5/10) and it really seemed to like the Ampeg plugin I was using. I didn't open up the preamp all the way because it made my amp fart out, but that's cus it's a small 30w amp but I'm sure if I plug it into the SVT-VR it'll sound awesome, because that amp and cab set are huge lol That and the Markbass, nothing can distort/cause those amps to fart out ^^'

Heh thank you hun ;/; And yeah I've been messing with this Ampeg plugin and it really seems to like Jazz-type basses as well as the Pete Wentz I've got there in the background heh...I also mix the outputs in stereo and add compression so there's no peaks...and I use studio headphones (Audio Technica M20X) so it's as good of a mix as I can put out with what I've got, which is a fairly modest-powered rig qwq

and it seriously is really good! came out so well!

I recommend learning this song if you're starting to get into bass...it's really fun xD

It does yeah, and it's still extremely difficult to me but I'm trying...soonish I might be able to get it down properly and not screw up a ton like I did here haha.

Aaaa thank you so much...I'm still learning ;w; There is a kinda bare bones reason as to why there's a similarity between my tone and Ikkan (in-game)/Tabokun's (real life bassist, look him up!)...it's got to do with the fact that his bass and mine use similar pickups, he uses Jazz-inspired bass models like the Sadowski Metro, and uses an overdrive/slight distortion and I suspect an Ampeg cab to give it that lofi, punchy grit. Difference is, my bass is around $200, his is well over $2k, and his amp is twice the price of his bass...my little 30W marshall combo amp and Darkglass B3K overdrive do get in the ballpark, but ultimately Ikkan/Tabokun have the best tone hehe. (Apologies for the wall of text btw!)
